Photos! Artuto Gatti’s wife, Amanda Rodrigues is now in police custody. Police interrogated Gatti’s wife and she reportedly made contradictory statements during questioning. Gatti’s wife, Amanda, is now a suspect in her husband’s death. Legendary boxer Arturo Gatti was found dead yesterday on July 11, 2009 at 6 A.M. in a seaside resort in Porto de Galinhas, Brazil. If you are wondering, Amanda is 23 years old and Artuto Gatti was 37 years old.

Now Sunday morning Brazilian police confirm they have Arturo’s wife Amanda Rodrigues Gatti in reported custody. Why? They claim Amanda gave contradicting testimony when questioned by police. Moreover, authorities tell press that Gatti was strangled with a purse.

Foul play is suspected and Arturo’s wife, Amanda Rodrigues is one of the main suspects of his death. Brazil Authorities are some what confused by Amanda’s changing story, as well as the recovery of a bloody purse strap which one investigator believes was used to strangle the unconscious fighter.

Former boxing champion Acelino Freitas, who was a close friend of Gatti, claims Gatti and his wife were having problems and were about to split up.
